Police Investigating West Long Branch Burglary

Burglary occurred on Monday, Dec. 17

The West Long Branch Police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred earlier this week.

Police say there was a residential burglary on Jeffrey Lane during the early evening hours of Monday, Dec. 17.

"Residents returning home may have interrupted the burglars who are believed to have fled West toward Eatontown," police said on the department's Facebook page.

Police say the department's detective bureau is investigating the case and that there is no description of the burglars at this time.

Police are asking residents to "remain extra vigilant" during the holiday season and to report suspicious persons, vehicles and activity.

"Remember that, if you carry a cell phone you have a great crime prevention tool and can use it to report things as well as photograph them," the West Long Branch Police state on their Facebook page. "If for some reason you are able to capture an image of a suspicious person or vehicle, do NOT post it (on the Facebook page) but send it to us for further investigation."
