iPlay America will open its doors to the public on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:11 a.m. However, members of the local business community, officials and media were given a sneak peak at the self-styled indoor amusement park on Tuesday.

The 115,000-square-foot facility, located on Schanck Road in Freehold Township, features rides, arcade games, restaurants, and a banquet center run by a sister corporation, Encore.

The concept for the amusement park came from New Jersey businessman and iPlay founder Bob McDaid.

“Our goal was to build something safe and fun for the whole family to come to,” McDaid said.

The facility features a city streetscape and a boardwalk setting, which McDaid said was inspired by his childhood at the Jersey Shore.

The banquet center is designed for larger events such as weddings, corporate events and trade shows, while iPlay America will be available to the general public as well as birthday parties.

General admission to iPlay America is $20, which includes a $5 entrance fee and a $15 iPA Card. The iPA Card is the currency used inside the facility and can be applied to the arcade, the two-story laser tag, the go-kart track, rides and food. The restaurants, candy store and self-serve yogurt store will accept cash but game attendants and ride operators will not, according to Michael Langsner, a sales representative for iPlay America.
