The Oceanport Board of Education will hold a special meeting Thursday night to discuss the teachers' contract.

According to a notice posted on the district's Web site, the board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Jeremiah F. Regan Library/Media Center at the Maple Place School to continue a conversation started at the July 19 meeting about the pending memorandum of agreement with the Oceanport Education Association.

Action may or may not be taken, according to the notice, and the board wil convene in executive session at some point.

The matter was tabled at last month's meeting to allot enough time for the negotiating committee to answer board members' questions about the proposed agreement.
