New Bathrooms and Snack Shack Could be Built by Summer
Plans for facilities to accommodate sports fans at Boro and Library fields easily moved through Little Silver's planning board this week.
Plans for a concession stand and restrooms to be built behind borough hall quickly met with approval from the Little Silver Planning Board at its Feb. 21 meeting.
Officials hope to have necessary zoning changes completed by April so that construction can get under way in May.
The plan includes a kitchen and concession stand to serve the athletic fields, along with picnic tables, two restrooms, and storage space for the recreation and police departments. It will also increase the amount of parking behind borough hall from 12 parking spaces to 37.
The building, which will also be used for police storage, will be heated and provide year-round use.

For the record- This story is factually incorrect.
The Planning Board was not asked to approve or disapprove of the of the Borough Councils plans for a year round building, bathrooms or concession stand.
The only issue before the Board was to approve the concept that the "Municipal Zone" should be enlarged to include the already purchased property to the north of the current Municpal hall. It was specifically not in our purview to approve or disapprove of the building- only the zoning issue.
What several members did ask for was assurance that all adjacent property owners had been noticed as to the Council's plans for the property. Our input concerned only whether zoing that lot consistent with the adjacent property confomed with the intent of the Master Plan.
As a member of the Planning Board, I would appreciate you correcting the record.

Unless you are saying that construction of the building could go forward without approval for the zoning change, then I think that you are splitting hairs.
