Media Reports: Jon Bon Jovi's Daughter Arrested After Heroin Overdose

Police quote saying Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was arrested at an upstate New York college.

TMZ.com and other media outlets are reporting that Middletown rocker Jon Bon Jovi's daughter, 19-year old Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, was arrested at an upstate New York college after a heroin overdose.

The celebrity news outlet says the officers from Town of Kirkland Police Department found Bongiovi in a dorm room at Hamilton College, allegedly overdosed on heroin and unresponsive.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene but found her alive.

According to the Clinton Courier, a local publication serving the area, Bongiovi was in the company of fellow Hamilton College student Ian S. Grant, 21, of Red Bank, N.J.

The Clinton Courier says she was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Grant was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Stephanie is the oldest of Jon Bon Jovi's four children with wife Dorothea Hurley, said TMZ.

Hamilton College is a private liberal arts college located in Clinton, NY.

I feel sorry for Bon Jovi & his wife, but most of all their daughter. She obviously has a problem if what the press reported is true. Unfortunately this is a common story in today's world but because of who she is it's all over the news. Celebrities are just human beings like the rest of us & share the same problems with their children as we all do. I hope that the daughter is willing to get the help she needs. Bon Jovi & his wife do so much for our community,They seem to be very humble people, & I respect them for that.

Doreen, I totally agree with you. I'm sure since she is going to college that she was experimenting on things and it got out of hand. Hopefully, like you said, she is willing to get help. And people won't harass Jon and Dorethea.

Thank God she is alive and I pray that Stephanie and her friend will get the help they need to kick this habit. It's sad for any family to have to go through this.

What people don't realize is that the heroin and pill problem is out of control here in middletown and red bank...I don't know about his daughter, but i DO know that the kid she was with, this isn't his first time experimenting, in fact he has been known as an avid pill junky for quite some time. And they're both from town...um, yea, I'm going to venture and say she's been in the game for a while. Hopefully with the spotlight on her it might bring some much needed awareness to this area and maybe, just maybe, something can be done about it.

'Experimenting' on things and got out of hand? 'Experimenting' with heroin? Such attitudes towards such dangerous substances is what contributes to our problems. Yes, hopefully as middletowngirl says, this will be a bigger wake-up call that these hard drugs (cocaine, heroin, meth, pills, etc) are VERY prevalent at our schools - and rather available for our students that are well-off and have a decent amount of walking around money. South probably has a worse problem than North, but it is even a problem in the Middle Schools, and parents need to be open to the fact that yes, it could be their kid - no matter how good a student or responsible they may think they are.

It's a challenge raising kids today......it's not really fair to speculate and point fingers, as many want to do. I just hope jon and dorothea have the strength to embrace their daughter and offer her the love, support and help she needs now to kick the habit.
