Little Silver Recreation Department Honors Coaches

The 2011 Little Silver “Spirit” award was presented to Jack McLoone.

A special group of people were assembled on the second floor of the Little Silver Fire House on Friday night, March 11. The Recreation Department showed appreciation for the coaches of Little Silver soccer, field hockey, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball and lacrosse by hosting a dinner to honor their hard work.

The event was organized by the Director of the Recreation Department, Doug Glassmacher, and the Recreation Committee.

Dinner was catered by Pete Roskowinski, the head of the Culinary Department at Red Bank Regional High School, and also a member of the Recreation Committee.

Athletic Director of Red Bank Regional High School, Louis Del Pra, was the special guest for the evening. Del Pra spoke about the importance of coaching and explained how it has influenced his life.

The 2011 Little Silver “Spirit” award was given to Jack McLoone, an eighth grade student at Markham Place School.  McLoone will graduate from MPS in June, and will take part in the Creative Writing Program in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Red Bank Regional.

Before the celebratory night ended lucky winners walked away with raffle prizes awarded by businesses in town!
