Members of the Little Silver Garden Club decked the town with boughs of holly and other evergreen species this week, installing baskets of floral arrangements at the train station, borough hall and public library.

The group prepared the baskets themselves in a Greens Workshop held Thursday morning. Members filled the baskets with locally-sourced evergreen plants such as holly, wintergreen, juniper, magnolia, white pine and spruce. Beauty berry and scotch broom were also used to add color to the arrangements.

The Little Silver Garden Club meets the second Thursday of most months at the Woman's Club at 9:30 a.m. and guests are always welcome. See their Web site for more information.

Very disappointed with Little Silver. It is not a Holiday tree! IT IS A CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING! Why do you have to put politics in Christmas! Next year it should say on the board outside CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING!! Shrewsbury did it right it was a Christmas tree lighting. Advertised all over and that's the way it should be. Thanks Shrewsbury!!!

Oceanport also calls it a Christmas Tree. Little Silver should do the same. To the Little Silver Garden Club, thank you for taking the time and making Little Silver look so festive.
