Little Silver Firefighters Respond to Early Morning Fire in Sea Bright

The fire was contained within roughly a half hour

Members of the Little Silver Fire Company responded to a fire that broke out in an abandoned Sea Bright warehouse in the very early morning hours.

A crew of six firefighters and a chief were dispatched to the second alarm structure fire around 1:20 a.m., according to a post on the Little Silver Fire Company's Facebook page. The crew "stood by on the scene" and was "released" as the fire had been "knocked down," the post states.

The 6 River St. building caught fire at about 1:20 a.m.; and, the fire was contained by roughly 2 a.m., police said.

About 25 firefighters from other local companies responded to the scene, according to APP.com, including firefighters from Rumson, Highlands and Monmouth Beach.

Ocean Avenue was flooded Wednesday night, due to the nor'easter, and access to the main road was cut off for a period of time.

No further information was yet available about the fire. Patch will update this story as more details become available.
