Last Chance: Deadline Approaching for Little Silver Spring Rec Sports
Don't get stuck with the $50 late fee after Feb. 7.
The deadline to sign up for Little Siver Recreation spring sports is fast approaching.
Residents interested in signing their K-8 child up for baseball, softball or lacross have until Feb. 7 before a $50 late fee is imposed. Because many teams fill up quickly, latecomers are not guaranteed a spot on the roster.
Little Silver Recreation is scheduling free indoor baseball, softball and lacrosse clinics in March at Point Road School Gym to prepare players for the Spring season.
There will be coaches only sessions such as “Organizing An Effective And Fun Baseball/Softball Practice” as well as kids’ clinics in hitting, pitching and fielding basics for both baseball and softball. Lacrosse sessions will concentrate on catching, passing, cradling, scooping and shooting for beginners as well as advanced players. Most weeknight clinics will be double sessions with earlier sessions reserved for younger children followed by sessions for older players.
Local high school and middle school coaches will be volunteering their time as instructors. RBR athletic director and varsity baseball coach, Louis Dal Pra, will be sharing his coaching expertise. Two other participating varsity head coaches include Little Silver residents Gary Costello, RFH, and Pat Geroni, Monroe Township. Markham Place softball coaches, Kristin Galante and Erin Cusmano will team up with high school coaches for the softball sessions.
The clinics will be open to all registered players, their parents and coaches. Dates for all clinics will be announced at the end of February.
