Area children took Kortney's Challenge on Sunday, running a 2-mile course at Monmouth Park to support pediatric brain tumor research.

The Fun Run at the Oceanport track was in support of the Kortney Rose Foundation, which was founded in the memory of a 9-year-old Oceanport girl who lost her battle with a brain tumor in April 2006.

The foundation's fundraising directly benefits pediatric brain tumor research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
