Christie to Promote Shore Economy in Asbury Park Today
Governor to appear at 3 p.m. on the boardwalk
Editor's note: Read coverage of Christie's visit here.
Gov. Chris Christie is scheduled to appear at the Asbury Park boardwalk at 3 p.m. today to discuss the importance of clean beaches and waterways to the Jersey Shore economy, organizers said.
The governor's "Promoting the Jersey Shore" press conference will be followed at 3:30 p.m. by a boardwalk and beach walk, according to a release from Christie's office.
During the walk, Christie is expected to meet and greet boardwalk patrons and beachgoers, the release says.
The press conference will be held on the boardwalk near Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Avenue, the release says.
Check back with Patch later today for full coverage of the event.

Thomas A. Blasi -- I would take Gov. Christie ANY DAY over that thief/bum/Democrat Jon Corzine.
How many BILLIONS did Corzine steal -- and his crooked friends in the Obama "Justice" Department are covering up for him.
Corzine stuck us with more debt, a lousy state economy, and an ugly painting the taxpayers will pay for that hangs in the State House.

So much anger, Fank Rizzo! Hurling personal attacks at me makes you look intellectually feeble.
I stated the facts:
- Corzine left this state in worse shape when he left.
- Corzine was at the helm of the company that stole BILLIONS amid his bogus claim that he didn't know where the money went.
- Christie inherited a mess thanks to Corzine.
Are you trying to tell us the Corzine term as governor was a success?

We are presently looking at almost 10% unemployment rate in the state and a half billion dollar budget shortfall and Standard & P lowered our credit rating. This is what a ‘wonderful’ governor he is!

To the amazement of many, Governor Lard only won the election by 80,000 votes! That’s correct. When they sorted the data out after the election; they discovered that the voters in Monmouth & Ocean Counties put him in office. Further analysis showed that they were white, male voters and that they were 50 and over and with a high school education or less! I rest my case!

The ‘gap’ has turned into an abyss; it will be difficult for us and the rest of the world to dig ourselves out. I do know that we have been spending 29 million dollars an HOUR on a war that has been continuing for almost 11 years. First thing we need to do (I think) is to bring the troops home and then cut back on the over 750 military bases we maintain around the world.

It's obvious Frank Rizzo is long on personal attacks, but short on facts. Rizzo claims Obama inherited "2 unfunded wars". It's sadly obvious that Rizzo has no concept regarding the federal law specifying how budgets and expenditures of the United States Department of Defense are executed.
So, Rizzo, enlighten us! If the so-called "unfunded war" claim was true, then why didn't Obama:
1) Cease and recall all troops in occupied lands and
2) Call for a federal investigation with prosecutorial powers involving Congress and the Department of Defense and how they spent federal dollars outside of the law.
The floor's yours Rizzo -- blind us with your brilliance.

John, where’s the fire! Didn’t know responses had come within 30 minutes! You might want to ease up on the caffeine! Anyway to answer your questions:
The Economic Policy Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank reported in June according to IRS data, over 87 percent of taxpayers make less than $100,000 in adjusted gross income. They have a great visual that shows the income distribution.
Or you can check the Bureau of labor statistics. There are plenty of reports – here’s one

I don't think the point is to squabble over a "definition" of rich or middle class as that is defined differently depending on the source. There is no one definition of "rich" or "middle class" that everyone agrees with. However, I think your first question (Can you give us a specific cause and effect example of your claim: "Since trickle down economics began the gap between the rich and the middle class has grown.") was answered fairly well by the links or the facts about income growth.

This is interesting! It seems everyone is in a big rush to push taxes on people, but no one can seem to define what "rich", "middle class" and "poor" is in America.
Peggy made a broad statement when she claimed ""Since trickle down economics began the gap between the rich and the middle class has grown."
Perhaps I should have been more specific.
* WHAT is "trickle down" economics?
* WHEN was it implemented in the United States?
* WHAT are the official measures of such economics?
...and, of course, define what "rich", "middle class" and "poor" is -- using official statistics of course.

Elephants&donkeys=jackasses -- are you kidding me? Peggy used a valid source of data when she used the Economic Policy Institute (EPI)???
One of the so-called sources comes from the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). Who makes up EPI and where does its funding come from?
(You gotta love Wikipedia some times!)
EPI: Founded in 1986 by economists Jeff Faux, Lester Thurow, Ray Marshall, Barry Bluestone, Robert Reich, and Robert Kuttner.[1] EPI's President is Lawrence Mishel, a long-time member of Democratic Socialists of America.
EPI funding: Eight labor unions made a five-year funding pledge to the Economic Policy Institute at its inception: AFSCME, United Auto Workers, United Steelworkers, United Mine Workers, International Association of Machinists, Communications Workers of America, Service Employees International Union, and United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
Does the word BIAS have any meaning to you when it comes to the source of the reference cites above?

I'm not sure what your point is but I would repeat that rich or middle class is defined differently depending on the source and type of analysis that is done. It is also based on a number of socio-economic factors, not just monetary factors or net worth. There is no one definition of "rich" or "middle class" that everyone agrees with. In the CBO information, I would think that they are considering the top 1% of households to be "rich", the middle fifth to represent the "middle class", and the poorest fifth to represent the "poor". There is a ton of statistical analysis out there that delves into the topic. Again, I'm not sure what your point is in focusing on the definitions. You also didn't provide your unbiased sources and I don't believe any personal attacks have come from here.
