The RFH Bulldogs took a bite out of the RBR Bucs, pulling out an overtime 3-2 win on Wednesday in the Dowd Cup ice hockey tournament semifinals.
The game at the Red Bank Armory went into overtime tied 2-2 with Hunter Rotchford scoring the winning goal.
The Bulldogs (16-2-0, no. 53) bulldozed through Toms River East 9-3 in the quarterfinals Monday evening to advance, and RBR (8-12-2, no. 86) upset the St. Rose Purple Roses 5-4 earlier Monday afternoon to move on.
The Dowd Cup is a tournament which pits teams from the Shore Conference's "C" and "D" divisions against one another for a top prize named after former New Jersey Devils player Jim Dowd, a New Jersey native who grew up in Brick.
