Books Come to Life at Point Road's Book Lover's Ball [VIDEO]

Students went all-out channeling their favorite book characters at Friday's reading celebration in Little Silver.

Like Halloween in March, Friday night's Book Lover's Ball at inspired students, and a bunch of parents, to channel their favorite characters and dress to the nines.

Sure, there were plenty of Harrys and Hermiones at this first annual event, but there were also some very clever Olivias, Judy Moody's and a very fancy Fancy Nancy. And one young Lorax sported a very orange hue above the neck.

School Principal Dr. Pamela Albert Devine, who smiled all night in her very warm looking Tigger costume, told Patch that the event was the brainchild of school media specialist Eileen Fitzpatrick.

Ms. Fitzpatrick, whose braided pigtails looped at the bottom Pippi Longstockin-style, was mistress of ceremonies for the costume parade past the judges' table and awarded ensuing prizes. We then loved that she and her braids bounced around the dance floor with students who loved all the tunes the dj played.
