Alabama Power Works to Restore Gooseneck Point

Workers say if all goes well, the 60 some houses without power here could be restored by noon.

Alabama Power workers arrived at Gooseneck Point in Oceanport at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The electricians have their work cut out for them as several lines are down and a pole needs to be replaced. They will work through a cold north wind that continues to increase. Workers told Patch that they will stay until the weather pushes them out, but hope to have the job done by noon.

Like many residents in the borough, Gooseneck Point and Shore Road have been without power for more than a week since Sandy tore through, destroying several homes and severely damaging others.

Even before the weather became an issue, they said new date for LS is Sunday. So I'm guessing December at this point!
