The Little Silver Recreation Department will host a parade and celebration to officially kick-off the spring sports season this Saturday, April 28 at 1p.m.

Representatives of Little Silver’s baseball, softball and lacrosse teams in kindergarten through eighth grade will march from the Little Silver Firehouse and proceed north on Prospect Avenue through the town of Little Silver, concluding behind Little Silver Borough Hall on Library Field.

The parade will be led by representatives from the Little Silver Police Department, Little Silver Fire Department and Little Silver Emergency Medical Services. Once all of the players have gathered on Library Field, a ceremony featuring remarks from Borough of Little Silver Mayor Robert Neff, the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem sung by a local student, announcement of the Spirit Award and first pitches/tosses by special guests will take place.

Following the ceremony, there will be music by local DJs, East Side Princes, and games, including a home run derby, dunking machine, an inflatable obstacle course by Fresh Personal Training of Little Silver, as well as hot dogs, lemonade and ice pops.
